Matthias Otto - Day 1
There's usually this dull, but nagging question in a team leader's head when taking a group of students on a trip abroad. What might that question be? Well, the question is: "Will all our luggage and its contents arrive in one piece?" Thankfully all team members and their respective suitcases have arrived safely! After a couple of hours of sleep, we joined our brothers and sisters in Christ at Iglesia Cristiana Evangelica in Monterrico for a rich worship service. Though I understood no more than maybe 15 percent of the sermon, the music stirred my heart and the communion service reminded me of the unity we share with other believers all around the world.

I am glad to know everyone has made it safe. I know God has a lot in store for the entire group during your time there. I will continue to pray for safety, and yet also your strength, perseverance, and spiritual growth. I also will be praying for those you will be working with and those that you encounter during this trip. I look forward to reading your updates!

Krista and I are so thankful for you and dad watching our two kids! It sounds like they are having a great time despite the scorching temperatures! We also look forward to hearing all the stories related to the Rocks of Remembrance upon our return. Tomorrow morning we are flying from Lima to Cuzco. Please pray for all the team members as we will be at approximately 14,000 feet above sea level (I think) and hope to avoid all symptoms of elevation sickness!
